STRATEGIC GRAIN RESERVES

Currently the Strategic Grain Reserves (SGR) comprises 10,000 metric tons of sorghum which is enough to supply national needs for a period of three months. SGR stocks are kept at various branches and along with BAMB commercial stocks are replenished annually depending on availability of supplies. The SGR has been in place for about twenty years.
